A Closing Note:

It is notable that continuous duty rated engines which are generally only used on commercial vessels and Nordhavns, have an expected life of somewhere between 20,000 and 40,000 hours and are designed to be overhauled to new in the hull economically. All components found in a Nordhavn were “best of breed” at the time the boat was built. The critical issue is ensuring that these components have been continuously maintained or changed out where necessary.

There is little need to worry about high hours on Northern Lights generators or Lugger propulsion engines that typically get broken in around 5000 hours.

It is also important to remember that all used boats have some degree of cosmetic degradation, both external and internal, however one will find that a great deal of effort and investment have been applied recently in preparing the Jade Explorer
